BreakOut: Ultimate Frisbee

Sweaty bodies, big open fields, flying discs... it can be nothing other than Ultimate Frisbee. This week the YF conducted another Frisbee activity. From the overwhelming response from the last time, we were all dying to get onto the field again. The YF was well attended with 19 people which split into 2 teams. We started out warming up and stretching to ensure that we were all ready to have a proper workout without serious injuries. The YF practiced throwing, catching and team strategy before the actual game started and managed to figure out individual strengths and weaknesses.
Once the game kicked off, it was an amazingly fast paced game that challenged us physically and mentally.
Once the Frisbee was tossed in the air, the Yfers went blazing towards the center of the pitch. With ambition as their scout, each team sought to fling AND catch their Frisbee within the scoring zone. It's pretty simple actually. Just keep tossing and catching the Frisbee from player to player till u reach the end point. Touch it to floor and the team scores a point. However, not only are you not able to move when you obtain the Frisbee but also, if a Frisbee is dropped/knocked out or lost, the possession automatically gets flipped to the other team with the players dashing to the other side of the field. The game was immensely fun and tiring but everyone put in their little effort and it's safe to say that everyone had a lot of fun.
Sometimes it's like that in our Christian life too. We often feel that we can do well on our own but, just like the game, it requires team work and proper communication. There is no way that an individual can win by himself. Likewise, in Christian life, sometimes we don't see the team players around us and the ultimate help that we have, Jesus Christ. Furthermore, it is very easy to throw the Frisbee to your intended recipient but when the game starts proper, it gets much tougher when people are blocking and marking you. In our life, we learn a lot of Christian principles and truths but when the crunch time comes and we have to defend our faith, it gets hard when we realize it's not as how we practiced.
All in all, the YF activity was smashingly fun and a great thrill for everyone. The photos have been uploaded and we hope to conduct more ultimate Frisbees because we're sure everyone had fun. Please drop a short comment on how you felt the Ultimate Frisbee went so we can continue to make changes and work on improving. Have a blessed week and God bless.
