Visit from Doulos Team
Saturday, December 02, 2006
"Doulos visits port cities throughout the world, supplying vital literature resources, encouraging inter-cultural understanding, training young people for more effective life and service, promoting greater global awareness, providing practical aid and sharing a message of hope in God wherever there is opportunity."
The ship Doulos came to Singapore recently and they docked here for a while allowing teams to go on shore to spread the gospel and reach out to the people of Singapore. And that's exactly what a 3 person team came to do on the 19th of Nov.
Simon, Merkka, Emma and Ee Ling [Singapore host from Pentacost Methodist; Volunteer] came to speak to us about their experience and life on the great mission ship Doulos. They shared with us testimony, videos, mimes and encouraged the youths through lively games that really got the crowd mingling together.
They showed us videos about their ship, what they do on deck and how life is like living in small spaces for long periods of time.
It was truly an enriching time and the youths were able to fellowship, bond and interact with our friends from Germany, South Africa and Finland. We look forward to entertaining them once more. This visit taught the youths that there are many other people from other countries in need of God and few people to do the work. However, we thank God for this bunch of faithful men and women who have given just a bit of their lives for God's mission work.
