BreakOut: PlayStation 260108

Amazing fun we had didn't we? The YF had some fun games during the last saturday in church. we arranged to meet at 1441hours and we had what a wonderful turnout.
Didja know? We had a total of 33 people turn up for the breakout that day! woah. haha we managed to get 27 youths split into 3 teams by a great time of icebreakers led by Gabriel and Jamie.
After that, we went around the church compound playing some wet and lesson based Station Games. a brief summary of each station is listed below...
Jamie/Chelsea's Station about Communication:One of the stations was named 'Broken tele-verses'. This game was led by Jamie and Chelsea and it was played at the playground. The game basically had teams standing in a single file facing one direction. The first person was then told to turn around and they were given a Bible verse. They then had to tap the next person and when they next person in line turned to face them, they had to act out the verse without noise. So on and so forth till it reached the last person. The last person would then be faced with the task of guessing what the first person's verse was. This taught us the aspect of Communication. It showed us how easily a message can be distorted and messed up. It also reminded us that in order to please God, we should always be in constant communication with him because communicating shows and builds intimacy with our Creator God.
Michelle's Station about Trust/Obedience:This station tackled the aspect of trusting God and being obedient to His voice and Will. A Leader was chosen from each team and the rest of the team was subjected to a world of darkness through blindfolds. The leader would then have to lead the team through a series of obstacles that involved not only ducking under tables but climbing chairs and avoiding a spray of water. The game was engaging and it made the team trust and rely on the only one who could see the way. Much like our Christian life, we sometimes are blind to the future or the things and circumstances around us. All we need to do is trust in God and obey His voice, this in turn would please Him, seeing His children listen.
Rui's Station about Dealing with Temptation:The team was split into teams of 2 which consisted of a devil and a pilgram. The objective of the game was for the Devils to tempt their pilgram into doing things that were wrong without the pilgrams getting suspicious or rebellious towards the devils. You should have seen what some people were doing just coz their devils suggested it. We had people skipping from one end of the room to the otherside... even some who went down on all fours and said "I ain't nothing but a hound dog!" haha. it was hilarious. But the main point of it was to learn how we should tackle, deal with and overcome temptation in our life. We should always frustrate the devil [Satan] by using the Word of God against him. If we know the Word, we won't be tempted so easily.
Gabriel's Final Station about Caring for Others:
The last and final station was the bomb! literally! We had a crazy mesh of waterbombs flying everywhere and people willingly putting their bodies in the line of fire. Why? Well, each of the 3 teams were given 2 t-shirts to put on 2 people. Objective? To keep the people and t-shirts dry as best they could. As the bombs flew, many people were physically blocking their friends and ensuring they got wet instead of the free given t-shirts...

What resulted was a drenched group of teenagers who had a blast. It really was a great breakout and we had 6 new friends which was super encouraging! Thanks for all the fun and support shalom YF!
